Last year, one of my most liked posts was when we went to Mt. Rainer for Fall colors. People saw the images and thought it looked like an AI rendering vs reality. But alas, it was very real, and very fleeting. As someone who prioritizes seeing the leaves change every year, I can honestly say this was my favorite view yet. With this national park only being 2.5 hours from Portland and a similar distance from Seattle it makes for a great trip.

Most times when people envision autumn leaves, they think about rows of orange and yellow trees, looking up at branches stretched above you. In the case of Mt. Rainier, the brush and bushes on the ground level are what change. it makes for hillsides of color something I had never seen before.
